Definition of Sexuality

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines sexuality as a central aspect of human life, which involves sex, gender identity and roles, sexual orientation, pleasure, eroticism, intimacy and reproduction, being influenced by biological, psychological, social, cultural, economic, historical, political, legal, religious and spiritual factors, and which goes beyond the sexual act, encompassing all forms of expression of sexuality and the search for sexual health as physical, emotional, mental and social well-being.
